Lithofin MN Stain-Stop is a special product from the LITHOFIN range, formulated for marble, natural and engineered stone (MN). Containing high-quality water and oil-resistant components based on alkoxysilanes, this premium impregnator penetrates the surface and coats the capillaries with an extremely thin, invisible film.

Once treated, oil, grease and water are no longer absorbed by the surface — remaining on top for 12 to 36 hours on polished marble and limestone, and up to 48 hours on granite and gneiss. This gives plenty of time to remove spills before they have the chance to stain. The appearance of natural stone is not affected, though some stones may darken slightly. Water absorbency is reduced by approximately 90–95%, while permeability remains largely unaffected at 80–90%. The product is also UV-resistant and will not yellow over time.

⚠️ Please Note: Marble and limestone will remain sensitive to acid even after treatment. Non-absorbent surfaces cannot be impregnated. Glass, ceramics, wood and other solvent-sensitive surfaces must be protected against splashes.

HOW TO USE

Without prior experience or in cases of doubt, always test the product in an inconspicuous area before full application. The surface to be treated must be completely dry and clean. Application temperature should be between 10°C and 25°C — switch off underfloor heating before treatment.

APPLICATION

For Dense Stones:

1. Working in small areas of 10–15m², apply the product generously and evenly until the surface appears wet.
2. Keep the surface wet for 5–15 minutes, ensuring even distribution.
3. Completely remove all excess product — do not allow it to dry on the surface if not absorbed.

For Highly Absorbent Stones:

1. Apply as above, keeping the surface wet for 5–15 minutes.
2. After 1 hour, repeat the process.
3. Completely remove all excess product — do not allow it to dry on the surface if not absorbed.

Final Steps:

1. Immediately check the whole surface for an even finish.
2. Allow to dry for 1–2 hours.

⚠️ Important: The liquid product must sink into the stone. Do not allow the product to dry on the surface — wipe excess product within 15 minutes.

Drying Time: Surface is dry and ready to walk on after 30–40 minutes. Complete drying and full effectiveness of the impregnation takes approximately 5 days — during this period, do not cover the surface and wipe up any spills immediately.

Durability: Durability depends on the care products used afterward — avoid strong degreasing or layer-forming products. Heavily used surfaces such as kitchen counters should be retreated once a year. Remove stain-causing materials from impregnated surfaces immediately. For regular maintenance of kitchen countertops, we recommend Lithofin MN Easy-Clean.

Storage: Keep closed, cool and dry. Shelf life of up to 3 years. Open containers should be used without delay.

Environmental Protection: Contains solvents but is free of chlorinated hydrocarbons. Do not flush down drains. Liquid product is classified as special waste. Containers are made from environmentally friendly tin plate and can be recycled through standard collection systems.

Safety: Flammable liquid and vapour. May be fatal if swallowed and enters airways. May cause drowsiness or dizziness. Repeated exposure may cause skin dryness or cracking. Keep out of reach of children, and away from heat, sparks, open flames and hot surfaces. No smoking. If swallowed, immediately call a Poison Center or doctor — do not induce vomiting.
