Lithofin Stainstop PLUS is a ready-to-use special product from the LITHOFIN range, formulated for ceramics, natural and concrete stone. Containing high-quality water and oil repellent agents based on siloxanes dissolved in solvents, this advanced impregnator sinks into the stone and reduces capillary absorbency — preventing water, oil and grease from penetrating the surface. These materials remain on top where they can be wiped away before they cause stains.

In addition to providing powerful stain protection, special additives in Stainstop PLUS permanently intensify the colour structure of the stone, darkening and invigorating its natural appearance.

APPLICATION AREAS AND SURFACE SUITABILITY

Ideal for making absorbent ceramic, terracotta, natural and engineered stone surfaces stain resistant while intensifying their colour structure. Highly suitable for weak to medium absorbent natural stones with rough to honed surfaces — also suitable for polished stones. Suitable for both indoor and outdoor use.

⚠️ Please Note: Impregnated surfaces cannot be retreated. Marble and limestone remain sensitive to acid even after treatment. Some stones may absorb unevenly, resulting in a cloudy appearance — always test first.

HOW TO USE

Always test the product in an inconspicuous area prior to application. The surface to be treated must be completely dry, clean and free of stains. Application temperature should be between 10°C and 25°C — switch off underfloor heating and avoid direct sunlight.

APPLICATION

1. Apply Lithofin Stainstop PLUS with a brush, roller or cloth. The surface should be uniformly wet, and very absorbent surfaces may require a second application within five minutes.
2. For rough surfaces, evenly distribute residues and foam before drying — the surface should appear wet, not completely dried off.
3. For polished surfaces, carefully wipe off product residues, do not allow them to dry. On large areas, remove residues with a squeegee and buff with a machine and white pad. If the product starts to dry, apply more and wipe the surface.
4. Check all surfaces for a uniform appearance — apply more product immediately if needed. ⚠️ The product cannot be removed once dry.

⚠️ Important: Glass, polishes, plastics, varnish and other solvent-sensitive surfaces must be protected against splashes. Non-absorbent and wet surfaces cannot be impregnated.

Drying Time: Most solvents evaporate within 2 hours. Floors can be walked on after 12 hours. Full effectiveness is achieved after 24–48 hours.

Durability: Outdoors, the colour-intensifying effect lasts 1–2 years depending on stone type and weather exposure, while the protective component lasts approximately 3 years. Indoors, durability depends on the care products used — strong degreasing agents and layer-forming products are not suitable. For regular maintenance, we recommend Lithofin MN Easy-Care, which supports the effect of Stainstop PLUS.

Storage: Closed, cool and dry. Shelf life approximately 2 years. Open containers should be used quickly.

Environmental Protection: Contains organic solvents, free of chlorinated hydrocarbons. Liquid product is classified as special waste. Containers are made from environmentally friendly tin plate and can be recycled through standard collection systems.

Safety: Classified as harmful (Xn). Flammable. Irritating to skin with risk of serious eye damage. May cause lung damage if swallowed. Vapours may cause drowsiness and dizziness. Keep out of reach of children, avoid breathing vapour and avoid skin contact. If swallowed, do not induce vomiting — seek immediate medical advice.

First Aid: Remove contaminated clothing immediately. In case of inhalation, move to fresh air. In case of skin contact, wash immediately with soap and water. In case of eye contact, rinse thoroughly with plenty of water and seek medical advice. In case of spill, take up with absorbent material such as sand or sawdust.
